"William Dale Smith treated the Moore
County Music Society to a whirlwind tour
of repertoire written for the guitar.  He
began with stately music from the
Renaissance originally written for vihuela,
continued with works of the more familiar
and well-loved composer Manuel de Falla,
and finished with an introduction to the
enchanting pieces of contemporary
Cuban composer Leo Brouwer.  Mr.
Smith delighted our audience with his
versatility, his technical mastery, and his
moving musicality, as well as his contagious
enthusiasm for his instrument and its music.  
Our listening experience was enhanced by
his informative verbal program notes which
preceded each selection.  We will look
forward very much to the opportunity of
hearing him play for us again soon."
